The MURE Tool has been applied in a variety of projects at the national level and for Commission Services, for example:

  • In spring 1998, ISIS prepared for DG XVII two impact analysis scenarios of the Best Available Technologies in the household and industry sectors at European level using the MURE database. These were worked out by ISIS on the basis of the MURE simulations and the results were analysed by the Energy Working Group of the EU Council (see MURE Newsletter 3).

  • Study for the Germany Federal Ministry of Economy: A synopsis of regulative measures for the rational use of energy in Germany and the EU - Overview, Structure, Development, Evaluation (Download short version in German, pdf-file 179k or English, pdf-file 179k)

  • Working paper for the German Federal Ministry of Research and Technology and for the Federal Ministry of Economy on The Status of Implementation of the SAVE-Directive 93/76/EWG in Germany (Download workpaper in German, pdf-file, 90k)

  • In order to respond to several specific comments and suggestions received by energy experts and regional or local authorities, ISIS developed for ENEA a new version of MURE, namely: MURE Territory that is directed to regional and local planners, to support them in the establishment and evaluation of RUE policies and measures geared to the specificity of a given territorial area. In particular the MURE Territory's objective is to support the decision makers in the analysis, at local/regional level (whichever the physical and administrative criteria for territorial segmentation), of both the energy saving potential and the economic convenience of Rational Use of Energy (RUE) interventions in the household and public building sectors.

  • In November 1998 MURE was used to provide information on the energy saving measures of the 15 European countries, to assist with the preparation of the International Energy Agency/ Danish Energy Agency Energy Conservation Initiative.
